How do I get to Whidbey Island?

Most guests will take the Washington State Ferry from Mukilteo to Clinton — it’s the most direct route from Seattle. However, you can continue via I-5 and Highway 20 to skip the ferry entirely and drive to the island via Deception Pass

Do I need a reservation for the ferry?

Vehicles cannot make reservations on the Mukilteo–Clinton route — it’s first come, first served. July is peak season and wait times can be significant, especially on weekends. Build extra time into your travel day - It's a 20 minute crossing and approximately an hour drive up the island to get to Oak Harbor.

Is there a hotel room block available for the wedding?

We are currently working on finalizing hotel details and room blocks for our July 2027 date. Because summer is a popular time for beach travel, we want to make sure we give you the best possible options. We will update this page with group codes, booking links, and pricing details as soon as they are locked in!

Should I wait for the room block to book my accommodations?

You don't have to wait if you find a spot you love! Since about half of our guests are traveling and beach accommodations fill up quickly for the summer, feel free to explore local hotels or VRBO rentals early. If you prefer to stay within a coordinated block, check back here soon—we will post all the options the moment they are ready

How to find the venue?

Navigate to “Rocky Point Beach Parking, Oak Harbor” and follow Golf Course Road to the venue. Look for balloons and a sign at the turn — it’s not a visually obvious turnoff, so the markers will help. A note about GPS warnings: Your navigation may show a warning about restricted or private roads. Don’t worry — the venue is on NAS Whidbey Island property and the gate is normally closed, which is why Maps flags it. The gate will be open for the event. It is likely that your GPS may suggest a route via SW Heller Road, once you turn onto W Clover Valley Road - the entrance to the beach will be on your right.

When should I let you know if I can make it?

Since we are keeping things casual with a beach party style celebration, we don't need a strict, official headcount for a venue or caterer. However, to help us prep plenty of food, drinks, and beach favors, please let us know if you can make the trip by late May 2027!

What should we bring with us to the beach?

We will have the food, drinks, and lodge comfort completely covered! However, since Rocky Point has beautiful beach access for ocean frolicking, we highly recommend bringing a pair of sunglasses, your favorite sunscreen, and a beach towel if you want to dip your toes in the water. Because the ocean breeze on Whidbey Island can get crisp once the sun goes down, tossing a light jacket, sweater, or cozy cardigan into your bag is also a great idea for later in the evening! if you are traveling light, don't worry—we will have a few extra supplies on hand!
